Projector for Business Use

LiveViewer for Android is an application software that projects a desktop screen of your Android device from the projectors via wireless or Wired network.


How to use the “LiveViewer for Android” App

1. Installing the App

  1. Launch “Google Play Store” App.
  2. Search “LiveViewer for Android”, and install the App.

2. Registering projectors to the App

  1. Make sure that your Android OS device is in the same network as a projector.
  2. Tapicon to launch the App.
  3. Tapbutton on the App. Then, all projector names on the same network are displayed. The projector is registered in the list by tapping the projector you want to connect.

    You can register the projector by using the projector’s IP address. Enter the projector’s IP Address in the IP Address entering box and tapbutton.
  4. You can see the projector which is registered on the list.
    If you want to change the projector name, IP Address and Network Presentation Password, tapbutton.
    Notes:
    - The projector’s IP Address should be static one so that the IP Addresses are not changed. Your network administrator might need to change the router’s DHCP settings.
    - If you want to set up the Network Presentation Password for security, please access to the Projector Web Control page in the projector from a browser and set a password to the Network Presentation setting.
    The color of projector icon shows the connection status between the projector and your Android device.
    You can control connection / disconnection by tapping the icon.
    Icon Status
    Indicates that the projector is connected.
    Indicates that the projector is online.
    Indicates that the projector is offline.
    If you want to update the connection status soon, tapbutton.
    If you want to delete the projector on the list, tap the projector icon and keep it for a while. You can see the window below to delete. Tap the “Delete” button.

3. Projecting your desktop screen from the projector

  1. Tap a projector icon on the list, which you want to project. Then, the icon color is changed from orange to blue.
  2. Tapbutton.
  3. If the confirmation message about the screen capture is displayed, tap the “Start Now” button. Your desktop screen will be projected.

    Notes:
    - Copyright protected contents might not be projected.

4. Using other optional settings

4-1. Presenter Mode

If you enable the Presenter Mode, you can prevent other people from projecting their desktop screens.
Tapbutton, and enable the Presenter Mode.

4-2. Changing User Name

You can set a User Name for Moderator Control Mode. The User Name is displayed on the moderator’s LiveViewer window.
Tapbutton, and select the User name to change the User name.
For details about the Moderator Control Mode, please refer to the User's Manual Network Guide for each projector.

4-3. Image Quality

You can change the Image Quality setting. The image quality of “Image quality priority” is highest, the second is “Normal”, the third is “Speed priority”.
The setting is applied from the next projection.

4-4. Aspect setting

You can change the Aspect setting. The first mode shows the original aspect ratio. The second mode shows the aspect ratio to fit the projector full screen.
The setting is applied from the next projection.

FAQs

Q1. I cannot project my desktop screen. What should I check?

- Check if your Android device is in the same network as the projector.

- Check if the projector’s IP address on the list is same as the actual projector’s.

Q2. How many projectors can I register to the list on the App?

- Up to 30 projectors can be registered.

Q3. Does the LiveViewer for Android support audio?

- No, The LiveViewer for Android doesn’t support audio.

Q4. Can I control a projector from the LiveViewer for Android?

- No. The LiveViewer for Android doesn’t have the projector control function.
But, you can control the projector by accessing the projector web control page from a browser. Enter the projector’s IP Address in the address box on a browser and press Enter Key. You will see the top page for the projector web control.

Q5. Can I use the “Simple Access Point” mode for wireless connection to use LiveViewer for Android?

- Yes, you can use the “Simple Access Point” mode.

Q6. Does the LiveViewer for Android have any function to become a moderator?

- No, it doesn’t. The LiveViewer for Android has the function to become only a client. The LiveViewer for Windows has the function to become moderator.

Q7. How do I set up the client’s LiveViewer for Android to be chosen by the moderator’s LiveViewer for Windows?

Moderator: Tap the “Moderator Control mode” button on the LiveViewer for Windows.
Client: Perform the same operation as projecting the desktop screen from the projector. For details, refer to “3. Projecting your desktop screen from the projector”.
Moderator: Choose a user name (Client) on the Moderator Control window and perform the projection. For details, refer to the User’s Manual for LiveViewer for Windows.

Q8. I want to have only authorized people be able to project their desktop screen from the projector. How do I set up?

  1. Access to the Projector Web Control page in the projector with a browser, and go to Security Settings > Network Presentation. Then, set an Authentication Password.
  2. Launch the LiveViewer for Android. Tapbutton on the right of the projector name on the list, and go to the Password window. Set the same password as the projector’s here.

Q9. The projection sometimes stops unintentionally. What should I check?

- Check if the signal strength of wireless LAN is enough.

- Check if the Wi-Fi channel for the projection does not have an overlap with other Wi-Fi ones. The projection might be unstable if the multiple Wi-Fi use the same channel.

- The problem might be improved by setting the Image Quality to “Speed priority”.

- If the user name disappears unintentionally from the Connection list on the Moderator’s LiveViewer during the Moderator Control mode, tap the projector icon to change the color to orange and tap the projector icon to reconnect to the projector.
